How You’ll Make An Impact

• You will set up components and operate hand tools to a very high standard.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, layouts, and specifications with precision.
• Measure and visually inspect completed parts to detect defects and ensure conformance to manufacturing documentation.
• Perform routine maintenance on tooling and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Collaborate with production and engineering teams to troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing issues.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to health and safety procedures.
• Document and report production data, including quantities, dimensions, and any deviations from specifications.

What You Bring

• Preferably completed a recognized full level 3 apprenticeship; candidates with an NVQ level 3 or technical certificate in a relevant engineering field will also be considered.
• Proven experience as a mechanical fitter in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficient in deburring, lapping, heli-coiling, scraping, and other hand trades to produce high-precision parts; a background in blending or fettling would be an advantage.
• Flexibility to work shifts and overtime as required.
• Strong understanding of engineering drawings and specifications.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in measurements.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
• Computer skills for documentation and reporting purposes.
• Proactive outlook towards work and continuous improvement.
