Role Description

The Fitter role is a full-time, on-site position based in Stafford. The Fitter will be responsible for installing window dressings, awnings, automated blinds, and hardwood composite shutters at client locations, ensuring accurate fitting and a high-quality finish.

The role involves liaising with clients in a professional manner, maintaining a clean and organized work area, and reporting any product or installation concerns to the workshop or management team. The Fitter will work closely with the in-house workroom and other team members to ensure installations meet Butterley Barn’s quality standards and are completed on schedule.

Qualifications

  • Strong practical skills in fitting, joinery, or a related trade, with confidence using hand and power tools safely.
  • Ability to read measurements, drawings, and installation instructions with high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good problem-solving skills for on-site adjustments, alignment issues, and bespoke installation requirements.
  • Professional communication skills for interacting with clients and team members, with a customer-focused approach.
  • Experience in interiors, carpentry, blinds, shutters, or similar installation work is highly beneficial.
  • Capability to work on-site in Stafford and surrounding areas, including manual handling and working at height where required.
  • Reliable, organized, and able to work both independently and as part of a small team to meet deadlines.
  • Full UK driving licence and eligibility to work in the UK; relevant vocational training or apprenticeship in a trade is an advantage.
