Role Description
The Fitter role is a full-time, mobile position based in Liverpool and the surrounding areas. The Fitter will carry out mechanical repairs, inspections, and servicing of HGV trailers, ensuring all work meets safety and regulatory standards.

Day-to-day tasks include:

- Diagnosing faults
- Performing routine maintenance
- Replacing parts
- Completing repair records accurately
- Responding to breakdowns
- Supporting preventative maintenance programs
- Working closely with colleagues to prioritize and complete jobs efficiently
- Maintaining a clean and safe work area
- Following company procedures
- Communicating clearly with supervisors and customers regarding vehicle status and repair needs
Qualifications
- Strong mechanical aptitude and experience working on HGVs, trucks, or trailers, including diagnostics, repairs, and routine servicing
- Knowledge of vehicle safety standards, compliance requirements, and best practices for preventative maintenance
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment safely and effectively
- Good problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Effective communication skills and a professional approach to customer service
- Relevant vocational qualification or apprenticeship in vehicle maintenance, mechanical engineering, or a related field is beneficial
- Full, valid UK driving licence; HGV licence is an advantage
- Willingness to work in Liverpool and further if needed with the ability to adapt to occasional emergency call-outs or extended hours when required
