Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for a Fitter of shutters and blinds, based in South Woodham Ferrers. The Fitter will visit customers’ homes to measure windows accurately, advise on suitable products, and install shutters and blinds to a high standard.

Daily tasks include:

The role involves:

  • Checking product quality
  • Troubleshooting minor issues on-site
  • Providing clear guidance to customers on product use and care

The Fitter will also:

  • Maintain good communication with the scheduling and customer service teams
  • Ensure appointments run smoothly and customer expectations are met

Qualifications

  • Practical skills in measuring, fitting, and installing household fixtures or similar products.
  • Experience using hand and power tools safely and confidently.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate clearly in customers’ homes.
  • Good problem-solving abilities and attention to detail when assessing spaces and fitting products.
  • Ability to manage time effectively, work to schedules, and complete multiple appointments per day.
  • Basic numeracy and literacy skills for reading job sheets, taking measurements, and completing paperwork or digital records.
  • Willingness to travel locally within South Woodham Ferrers and surrounding areas; a valid driving license is highly beneficial.
  • Previous experience in blinds, shutters, carpentry, joinery, or similar trades is an advantage but not always essential.
  • Commitment to health and safety standards and maintaining a professional appearance and attitude at all times.
