Westray Recruitment Group is seeking to recruit a Fitter for our client based in Consett

WHAT IS IN IT FOR YOU?

  • Permanent role
  • Durham location
  • £17.29 ph (£33,265.96 pa)
  • 37 hours per week
  • Day Shift Only – Mon to Fri 07:30-16:00 Fri 07:30-12:30
  • Overtime Rate Applicable
  • Pension with company contribution
  • 25 days holiday, plus bank holidays
  • Death In Service Scheme
  • Income Protection Scheme
  • Cycle To Work Scheme
  • Travel allowance based on miles to work
  • Onsite parking

Supporting a wide range of industrial sectors, they provide expert servicing, repair, and overhaul solutions across all types of pumps.

THE ROLE

  • Carry out the disassembly, inspection, repair, and reassembly of rotating equipment, with a primary focus on pumps
  • Diagnose faults and identify root causes of equipment issues to support effective repairs
  • Work to agreed deadlines while maintaining high standards of workmanship
  • Ensure all tasks are completed in line with company procedures and relevant industry standards
  • Assist in compiling detailed service and inspection reports for customers
  • Collaborate with internal teams to resolve technical issues and improve processes
  • Contribute to a busy service department handling a wide range of equipment from a global customer base
  • Participate in team-based and cross-functional activities as required

THE PERSON

  • Time-served fitter or engineer with relevant industry experience
  • Proven background in the servicing, assembly, and repair of pumps and rotating equipment
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, varied environment
  • Flexible approach to work, with willingness to support overtime when needed
  • Reliable, honest, and committed to delivering high-quality work
  • Team player with good communication skills and a proactive attitude
