We are recruiting for a hands-on, mechanically minded Hydraulic Fitter to join a well-established engineering business based in Rochester.

This is an excellent opportunity for a practical individual with mechanical fitting or engineering experience who is looking to develop their skills within a specialist engineering environment. Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble, strip down and fit hydraulic and mechanical equipment
  • Carry out fault finding, diagnostics and problem-solving on hydraulic and mechanical systems
  • Undertake a variety of stripping, fitting, repair and reclamation work
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications and job instructions
  • Plan and organise work to ensure jobs are completed efficiently and to a high standard
  • Assist with the installation, removal and replacement of hydraulic and mechanical components
  • Occasionally support site service engineers with repairs, maintenance and installations at customer locations across the South East
  • Maintain high standards of workmanship, health and safety and general workshop organisation

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
