Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Fitter/Machinist role based in Keighley. The Fitter/Machinist will be responsible for:
- Assembling, fitting, and machining components to precise specifications, using a variety of hand tools, power tools, and machine tools.
- Reading and interpreting technical drawings.
- Setting up and operating conventional machines (such as lathes, milling machines, and drilling machines).
- Performing routine maintenance and adjustments to equipment.
- Inspecting finished parts for quality, making necessary corrections.
- Collaborating with production and engineering teams to meet project deadlines.
- Following all safety procedures.
- Maintaining a clean and organized work area.
- Supporting continuous improvement in manufacturing processes.

- Strong mechanical aptitude, with experience in fitting, assembly, and general workshop practice.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering and technical drawings accurately.
- Proficiency in operating conventional machine tools (e.g., lathes, milling machines, drills) and basic measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers).
- Understanding of manufacturing safety standards, safe use of tools and machinery, and good housekeeping practices.
- Good problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work to tight tolerances and deadlines.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and communicate clearly with colleagues and supervisors.
