About FixFest
Part trade expo, part country fair, part music festival, FixFest is the UK’s only festival for tradespeople and their families. Our FixFest values and ambitions match those of our radio station.
Sponsored by Wickes TradePro and debuting in Sussex in 2025 before a move of site to Northampton for our 2026 follow-up, acts so far have included (qualified plasterer) Dizzee Rascal, Ocean Colour Scene, Scouting For Girls, Sigma, Hard-Fi, Goldie Lookin’ Chain, Toploader, and more.
The festival has also included attractions such as The JCB Dancing Diggers, UK’s Strongest Man demos, Diggerland, chainsaw tree sculpting, a vast array of fun activities in the family zone, and dozens of tradestands. We also have three discussion zones that focus on key issues in the construction industry - The Bosch Inspiration and Innovation Zone, the Baxi Powerhouse (wellbeing & mental health), and the Wickes TradePro Tool Theft zone, each designed to provide educational and informative content to inspire our industry family.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What We’re Looking For
A creative, commercially-minded organic social media content executive to execute our strategy to take FixFest’s social audience to the next level. This is not a role for someone who simply schedules posts. We’re looking for someone who understands what makes our audience stop scrolling, have an emotional response, and want to comment, share, and follow.
Who can turn that understanding into a consistent stream of entertaining, relevant, and highly shareable content. Adapting to different “sub sets” of our festival audience, and ultimately helping to turn social attention into ticket sales and event participation.
Reporting to the Head of Marketing, you will take on the key responsibilities outlined below.
Key Responsibilities
- To significantly grow reach and engagement for the FixFest Meta channels.
- To launch and build an audience for a FixFest TikTok channel from the ground up.
- To create a consistent stream of graphic and video-based content.
- To respond to audience engagement and messages in our “tone of voice”.
- To ultimately help drive ticket sales for our 2027 event.
- To post intensive content across our actual festival day created by a wider content team.
- To track engagement metrics & growth.
- The 2027 date for the event is Saturday July 10th at Delapre Abbey in Northampton, and you will be required to be part of the event's social media content team on the day.

- You love social media and genuinely understand how the platforms work.
- You’re highly creative, full of ideas, and yet detailed, organized & strategic.
- You might be in the earlier stages of your freelance career and hungry to advance your developing, ongoing client base by demonstrating your ability in this field.
- You are able to work to, and contribute to, a strategy laid down by our Head of Marketing and accept guidance and direction in order to achieve a clear set of KPI’s and SMART objectives.
- You’re able to work fast, smart, and flexibly with no loss of quality.
- You’re a strong copywriter with an instinct for a good hook.
- You know how to create great, scroll-stopping graphics and video content.
- You’re interested in our core pillars of our construction / trades community, plus festivals / events & entertainment.
