The Role
We are looking for a commercially focused Fixed Gas Detection Sales individual to join our Cardiff team. You will develop new business and manage existing customer relationships, providing practical and technically informed advice on fixed gas detection systems. Working closely with customers, manufacturers and our internal technical team, you will help identify hazards, understand site requirements and recommend suitable detection solutions.

This is a hybrid position involving office and remote working, with regular travel to customer sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop new business opportunities for fixed gas detection systems.
- Manage and grow relationships with existing customers.
- Understand customers’ applications, site conditions and gas detection requirements.
- Recommend appropriate fixed gas detection products and solutions.
- Prepare quotations, proposals and presentations.
- Conduct customer meetings, product demonstrations and training sessions.
- Manage opportunities throughout the complete sales cycle, from initial enquiry to order.
- Maintain accurate records of customer activity, opportunities and forecasts on CRM.
- Work with technical colleagues to support site surveys, system specifications and project delivery.
- Build strong relationships with manufacturers and industry partners.
- Monitor market developments, competitor activity and relevant industry standards.
- Represent Rockall Safety at trade shows, exhibitions and customer events.
- Work towards agreed sales targets while maintaining excellent customer service.
About You
You will be confident discussing technical products and capable of turning a customer’s requirements into a clear, appropriate solution. You should be comfortable developing new business while building long-term, trusted customer relationships.
Skills and Experience
- Previous experience in technical, industrial or B2B sales.
- Strong communication, presentation and customer service skills.
- A proven ability to develop business and manage customer accounts.
- Commercial awareness and confidence preparing quotations and negotiating orders.
- Excellent relationship building and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage your own workload, sales pipeline and priorities.
- Confidence learning and explaining technical products.
- Competence using CRM systems and standard Microsoft Office applications.
- A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to customer sites.

Desirable Experience
- Experience selling fixed gas detection systems.
- Knowledge of portable gas detection, respiratory protection or related safety equipment.
- Experience working within industrial safety, engineering, manufacturing, utilities, oil and gas, water treatment or a related sector.
- Understanding of gas hazards, detector technologies and relevant industry standards.
- Experience conducting product demonstrations, site surveys or customer training.
- A technical, engineering, business or sales qualification.
