Global bank seeks a Trader within its Global Markets division offering an outstanding opportunity to rapidly develop your banking talents. You will work across a range of financial instruments, operating within very different markets and countries.
The Role
The Local Markets business is one of the two trading pillars of the FIC division; responsible for all trading activity in FIC products. The Role of the Trader is to bring experience in China market and build on market making capabilities.
Delivery of Business Plans
- Manage China trading book, covering all range of products, IR, FX and Credit.
- Trading both offshore and offshore products, including bonds, CCS, FX Swaps, IRS, Bonds, TRS, CLNs etc
- Support the Sales and Structuring Team in promoting our capabilities.
- Ensure that relevant information is communicated to Head of Desk

Risk Management
- Ensure you operate within relevant Credit and Market risk limits
- Ensure that the relevant Regulatory, Legal and Compliance risks and rules that pertain to the business activities are understood and fully adhered to
- Ensure you operate in a manner to minimise Operational risk and escalates incidents if they arise
Conduct
- Maintain an awareness of and comply with all Anti Money Laundering laws, regulations, policies and procedures relevant to the Bank
- Escalate all significant Regulatory / Compliance issues immediately through appropriate channels
- Develop and maintain a Senior Managers Regime plan and working document to evidence compliance with the regime
- Operates within the terms of the SLAs with Standard Bank Group

New Business Risk
- Ensure you are aware of approved products
- Ensure any proposed New Business has a robust strategical rationale
- Ensure that any new business initiatives are appropriately sponsored in the NPC, NPP and TAC forums
Key Skills
- Relevant market experience, with strong working knowledge of Rates and FX markets, in both cash and derivatives.
- Experience of working in a regulated Financial/Professional Services environment
- Mandarin speaker
