The role

Here at Northumbria Police, we think our region is amazing! It takes a great deal of people from different backgrounds, with diverse skills and experience to serve our force area effectively. Think you have what it takes to help us make a difference? This could be the perfect time for you to join us in our Criminal Justice Department as a Fixed Penalty Unit (FPU) Support Services Administrator.

Are you ready to make a meaningful impact within our team? We are looking for a proactive individual to handle a variety of administrative and casework duties, ensuring our services run smoothly and efficiently. In this role, you will support the management and processing of fixed penalty notices and collision records across the force. Additionally, you will provide valuable advice, support, and information to the public, working closely with partner agencies and stakeholders to enhance our service delivery. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, the ability to manage competing priorities, and a commitment to ensuring information is processed accurately and in accordance with force procedures and legislative requirements.

If you thrive in a dynamic environment and are passionate about contributing to public safety, we want to hear from you!

What you’ll do

  • Process and maintain records by inputting, updating, and retrieving information across force systems to support the accurate flow of information and case progression.
  • Manage and update case files, ensuring information is recorded accurately, actions are completed, and deadlines are met.
  • Provide professional advice and support to members of the public regarding Fixed Penalty Notices and collision-related enquiries, handling sensitive or challenging situations effectively.
  • Support officers and staff by providing guidance on legislation, offences, and procedural requirements, ensuring compliance with relevant criteria and time limits.
  • Maintain accurate section records and performance data using both electronic and paper-based systems to support operational effectiveness and reporting requirements.

What you’ll bring

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
