IKEA Croydon People & Culture Business Partner

IKEA Croydon are looking to welcome a People & Culture Business Partner on a fixed term basis for 12 months.

Step into a dynamic on-site role at IKEA Croydon as a People & Culture Business Partner, supporting daily retail operations and partnering with leaders across the store to drive coworker growth, onboarding, engagement, and performance. You’ll play a hands-on role in fostering a high-performing culture and delivering an exceptional customer experience.

  • The Start Date of employment will be October 2026.
  • Starting salary of £36,000 per annum, based on competence and experience.
  • 39 Hours working 5 days per week including alternate weekends per month.

What You'll Need to Have

  • Relevant experience in People and Culture within the retail or a related sector.
  • Relevant University degree or CIPD qualification is beneficial but not essential.
  • Experience of the following is beneficial:
    • Coaching and advising store-level line managers to confidently navigate people processes and lead their teams effectively.
    • Performance Management
    • Policy Management
    • Employee Relations Case Management
  • Proven ability to prioritise and organise your workload in order to make the most efficient use of available time and meet agreed goals and deadlines.
  • Confidence to express ideas and opinions effectively through clear communication to influence and build effective relationships across all levels.
  • You have effective problem-solving and decision-making abilities, particularly when faced with operational challenges.

What You'll Be Doing Day to Day

  • Collaborating with stakeholders to implement a comprehensive range of People and Culture (P&C) solutions and activities.
  • Representing people and culture in the development of strategic and business plans by providing relevant subject matter expertise.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to co-ordinate performance reviews and onboarding and off boarding activities.
  • Participates and represents P&C in strategic business plan development and ongoing business decisions and implementing people approaches and all aspects of the people within the respective unit.
  • Responsible for ensuring that the talent and succession goals and performance management for the assigned business areas are being consciously achieved, providing advice and expertise to line managers to secure a quality and timely process.
  • Implement a common way of handling Co-worker relations issues, delivering consistency and fairness in all our processes, and actively performing an analysis of root causes in coordination with your Unit P&C Manager.
  • Manage involuntary and voluntary exits for co-workers based on guidelines and any legal requirements.
  • Participate in performance reviews and calibration sessions and PIP programs as needed.
  • Prepare report on industry trends and other data for key positions conversation with business and for Talent for Growth conversations.
  • This role will be based from IKEA Croydon, and requires presence in the store for full-time hours.
  • In addition to your People & Culture responsibilities, you’ll undertake regular Store Duty shifts, providing visible leadership and supporting the smooth, safe, and successful operation of the business.
