Compensation:
£36,000 – £39,000 / year (varies by location, plus high bonus potential and overtime)

About the Role
We are seeking Fixed Wire Test Engineers to work from a home base in Sheffield, North Yorkshire, Bristol, or Northampton and surrounding areas.

Key Responsibilities
- Carrying out electrical periodic inspection and testing of fixed wire installations (commercial only)
- Completing minor remedial works where required
- Producing NICEIC-compliant reports for quality checks by the Technical Manager
- Collaborating closely with the Technical Manager and Operations team
- Using bespoke custom software (modified via engineer feedback to optimise speed and efficiency)
- Operating across facilities management, retail, commercial, education, and local authority sites
- Contributing ideas to improve testing processes and software
Working Conditions
- Working hours: 40-hours/week, with overtime opportunities
- Occasional out-of-hours/weekend work based on client access and site needs
- Focus on larger commercial sites for potential longer assignments
Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise
Essential:
- Recognised electrical qualification (e.g., City & Guilds (C&G) 2391 or equivalent)
- Currently time-served electrician or specialist tester (preferably commercial experience)
- AM2 or NVQ Level 3 qualified
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification
- Proven commercial site testing expertise (not domestic housing)
- Strong commitment to safety standards in compliance with company policies and legislation
- Will to stay current with industry regulations and undertake further training

Salary & Benefits
- Competitive salary: £36,000 – £39,000 (£39,000 inside M25/home counties)
- Performance bonus: £2 per circuit for 45+, rising to £3 per circuit over 58
- Overtime pay: £3 per circuit for weekend work and hours over 40/week
- Pension & 23 days holiday (incl. bank holidays and Christmas closure)
