About the Role
We are hiring Fixed Wire Test Engineers to join our team, working from a home base in:
- North Yorkshire
- Sheffield
- Bristol
- Northampton
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Inspection and testing of commercial fixed wire installations and distribution boards
- Completing minor remedial works where necessary
- Generating accurate NICEIC reports for technical quality checks
- Collaborating with the Technical Manager & Operations team
- Using our bespoke testing software (designed for speed and efficiency, open to continuous improvement)
- Working across facilities management, retail, commercial, education, and local authority sites
- Supporting optimisation of testing software and processes

Primary Focus:
- No domestic housing work – only commercial sites
- Work may involve out-of-hours or weekend shifts depending on client access
- Job offered as 40 hours per week, with overtime opportunities
- Organised on a regional basis (work may require travel, though efforts are made to minimise it)
Requirements & Criteria
Essential Experience:
✔ A recognised electrical qualification (e.g., C&G 2391) – preferably as a time-served electrician or tester ✔ AM2 or NVQ Level 3 Electrotechnical Competence qualification ✔ 18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations knowledge ✔ Commercial-site experience (testing agencies/public sector preferred – no domestic-only roles) ✔ Demonstrated ability to work safely under operational standards and legal compliance ✔ Commitment to updating training on new legislation and standards

Salary & Benefits
Base Salary:
£36,000 – £39,000 depending on location (£39k M25/home counties; £36k elsewhere).
Performance Bonuses:
- £2 per circuit for 45+ circuits
- £3 per circuit for 58+ circuits
Overtime & Flexibility:
- Pay rate: £3 per circuit for workbook shifts/extra hours
