ROLE: Fixed Wire Testing Engineer
HOURS: 40 Hours per Week
Shift Pattern: 4 nights per week, 10 hours per shift (Monday to Thursday evenings). Friday to Sunday off.
LOCATION: Sellafield, Seascale, Cumbria

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Fixed Wire Testing Engineer to join our team at Sellafield. In this role, you will be responsible for carrying out electrical testing, inspection, and remedial works across estate buildings, ensuring all fixed wiring installations remain safe, compliant, and operational in line with current regulations and site-specific requirements.
Role Responsibilities:
- Carry out fixed wire testing, inspection, and certification activities across estate buildings in accordance with current electrical regulations and Sellafield standards.
- Ensure electrical installations are maintained in a safe condition and remain fully compliant with statutory and contractual requirements.
- Operate in full compliance with Sellafield SLSPs, Mitie safe systems of work, and all health and safety procedures.
- Achieve and maintain Electrical Nominated Person status as required for service delivery.
- Deliver planned and reactive maintenance tasks within agreed service level agreements (SLAs) and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Proactively manage reactive repair activities to minimise aged tasks and ensure timely completion of all work orders.
- Complete engineering worksheets, reports, certificates, and documentation accurately and within required timescales.
- Maintain a consistently high standard of workmanship, technical quality, and customer service.
- Build positive working relationships with clients, colleagues, subcontractors, and suppliers to support effective service delivery.
- Maintain company vehicles, testing equipment, tools, and records in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Identify and report opportunities for additional works outside the existing contract scope.
- Support the preparation of quotations, estimates, and technical information for reactive and project works when required.
- Ensure all works are delivered in the safest, most efficient, and cost-effective manner while maintaining quality standards.
- Submit timesheets and associated documentation promptly for management review and approval.

Essential Qualifications:
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent recognised qualification.
- City & Guilds 2391 or 2392 Inspection and Testing qualification.
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification (including latest amendments).
- Full, clean UK Driving Licence.
Essential Experience:
- Proven experience in electrical installation, maintenance, and remedial works.
- Strong practical experience in fixed wire testing and inspection.
- Good understanding of current electrical legislation, standards, and industry best practices.
- Experience working safely within regulated or high-compliance environments.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and electrical schematics.

Work Environment:
- Mobile role operating across a large and complex nuclear site.
- Physically demanding position involving walking, climbing, accessing plant areas, and carrying testing equipment.
- Requirement to work night shifts as per the shift pattern.
- Flexibility to undertake overtime and participate in rostered weekend working when required by operational needs.
- Must be comfortable working within a highly regulated environment where compliance and safety are critical.
