Mission for the Role
The mission of the Fleet Controller is to keep Alltruck customers moving by coordinating fleet maintenance, breakdowns, compliance activity and repair events with accuracy, urgency, and care. This person will protect service level agreements, minimise vehicle off-road time, keep customers informed throughout every issue, and work confidently with colleagues, suppliers, and customers to deliver a reliable, professional, and supportive service.
Outcomes: What success looks like
- Protect customer uptime: Manage breakdowns, repairs, and compliance events from start to finish, reducing vehicle off-road time and ensuring customers receive timely, accurate updates.
- Deliver excellent customer service: Handle every customer interaction professionally, including situations where customers are distressed, frustrated, or under pressure, while remaining calm, confident, and helpful.
- Maintain accurate fleet records: Keep service history, order numbers, rechargeable repairs, compliance records, and supplier information accurate, complete, and up to date.
- Control costs and supplier performance: Liaise with repair agents, suppliers, and third parties to ensure work is authorised, costs are controlled, service level agreements are met, and issues are escalated appropriately.
- Support continuous improvement: Contribute ideas, adapt to new systems and processes, and support colleagues by providing cover and practical help across the operations team when needed.

Experience and knowledge that will help you succeed
- Fleet or transport management: A good understanding of fleet, transport, or commercial vehicle operations, including HGV and LGV environments where possible.
- Breakdown or service coordination: Experience coordinating repairs, service events, customer updates, supplier follow-up, or operational administration in a time-sensitive environment.
- Systems capability: Confident using Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word, with the ability to learn in-house systems quickly. Experience using Jaama Key2 would be beneficial.
- Automotive knowledge: A recognised qualification in Automotive Inspection and Repair, or practical knowledge of vehicle maintenance, would be an advantage.
- Compliance awareness: Knowledge of operator licensing, service schedules, compliance events, and accurate record-keeping is desirable.
- Commercial awareness: Able to understand cost, authorisation, order numbers, rechargeable repairs, and invoicing queries, escalating issues where appropriate.
