Job Title: Fleet Engineering Compliance Monitoring Engineer
Salary: £61,486 - £67,568 per annum dependent on experience
Location: Carterton, Oxfordshire
Aeropeople are currently recruiting for a Fleet Engineering Compliance Monitoring Engineer on behalf of our client based in Carterton, Oxfordshire.

Reporting into the Fleet Engineering Compliance Monitoring Manager, you will hold a critical role in assuring the company’s regulatory integrity and safety under a particularly complex and unique suite of civil and military regulatory approvals, rare to the aviation and Defence industry. Notably, this includes: UK CAA Part CAMO, Part 145, UK MAA MRP 145, MAOS.
Operating at the heart of a highly complex dual civilian, military regulatory environment, the role provides authoritative regulatory assurance, technical oversight, and governance of Licence engineer authorisations, requiring deep technical competence, sound regulatory judgment, and the ability to influence decisions at all levels of the organisation.
The role will require expert interpretation and application of civil and military aviation regulations across diverse operational, maintenance, and audit activities. It demands the ability to plan, execute, and lead multifaceted compliance activities across on-site, off-site, and out-of-hours contexts, often under time-critical conditions. You will have significant influence over cross-departmental processes, standards, and engineering decision-making, including the competency and authorisation of Licensed Engineers.
The role leads and coordinates cross-functional inputs to audits, authorisation boards, subcontractor assessments, and regulatory programmes, ensuring resources are effectively aligned to meet compliance obligations. It also provides mentoring and oversight to new staff and deputises for the Fleet Engineering Compliance Monitoring Manager to maintain continuity of critical business functions.
This will be a hybrid working role - 3 days per week in the office (minimum) and 2 days per week from home.
Main Responsibilities:
- This role holds the responsibility for end-to-end delivery of complex and technical audits, as required by the audit programme, central to maintaining the company’s vast suite of regulatory approvals. In doing so, exercise expert regulatory judgement through the planning, execution, and reporting of multifaceted compliance monitoring activities, including out-of-hours, off-site and short notice audits including contractors and subcontractors, to safeguard continuous compliance with national aviation regulations and the company’s governance requirements.
- This activity also includes the necessity to audit and approve Line Stations and Maintenance Repair Organisations to enable critical UK and down-route operational activities.
- Provide governance oversight of the AQD Quality and Safety database, ensuring accurate recording of occurrences and audit findings, monitoring trend data, and elevating emerging risks to leadership to enabling evidence-based decision-making
- Plan, conduct and lead the facilitation of the UK CAA Continuous Airworthiness Monitoring, Part 145 and Part CAMO audit activities, ensuring regulatory requirements are fully understood, validated and appropriately actioned as required by the CAA audit programme.
- Engage in MAA MRP Part 145 audit activity, providing technical and regulatory insight to support military oversight obligations.
- Provide airworthiness and regulatory expertise for line maintenance in accordance with 145.A.10, supporting planning and decision making for major maintenance events, modifications, and defect resolution.
- Provide Regulatory governance of the Company Authorisation System in accordance with Part 145.A.35, overseeing all initial and periodic authorisation reviews, and the controlled issuance of Personal Authorisations. Chair Authorisation Boards for Licensed Aircraft Engineers and Technicians to assess competency for the company’s certification privileges. Drive and coordinate cross-departmental processes to ensure the timely issue and renewal of Engineer licences and authorisations. Act as the regulatory subject matter expert at Schedule X progress meetings, advising on compliance and the governance of Licensed Engineer Authorisation requirements under Part 145.A.35(i).
- Conduct comprehensive regulatory evaluations of subcontractors, specialist service providers, vendors and suppliers to ensure sustained compliance with engineering, maintenance and airworthiness requirements, and to verify that all contracted Fleet Engineering services are delivered in accordance with applicable regulatory and organisational standards
- Stand as a subject matter expert to onboard, mentor, and fully integrate new staff into the company’s complex regulatory management system, including the adoption of new processes, procedures, systems, and IT software upgrades.
- Provide regulatory subject matter expertise at Aircraft Reliability Meetings in accordance with CAMO A.125(d).
- Provide regulatory subject matter expertise at Aircraft Configuration Control Board meetings to meet the requirements of CAMO A.313(a).
- Support the ongoing development, implementation, and oversight of the company Safety Management System (SMS), including Health & Safety activities, in coordination with the Compliance Department.
- Deliver the Engineering Compliance monitoring presentation as part of the Compliance Department Shadowing Programme for non-Compliance staff.

About You:
Essential:
- Extensive demonstrable experience in Aviation Maintenance environment.
- Appropriate previous experience in a Quality Assurance / Compliance Monitoring and/or Safety Management role.
- Formal aeronautical maintenance training.
- Appropriate demonstrable ability to conduct audits and produce accurate reports.
- Extensive understanding of CAA Regulatory structure.
- Appropriate previous experience in a position within the approved organisation with appropriate responsibilities.
Desirable:
- UK CAA Licence or a recognised post graduate technical qualification.
- Prove acceptable to CAA as ARC signatory SRG1769 Part.CAMO.A.305(e) ARC Signatory.
- Experience in A330 maintenance operations.
- Previous Commercial experience within an UK CAA MRO
- Previous Military experience.
- Experience with AQD.
- Familiarity with MEDA methodology
- Demonstrates Significant computer literacy with experience of using Microsoft Office applications and strong capability in Excel to develop pivot tables, visual dashboards and data-driven diagrams that effectively communicate analytical outcomes.
