We are looking for an experienced and organised Fleet Manager to join us on a secondment and take responsibility for the effective management, compliance, performance and cost control of our vehicle fleet.

You’ll play a key role in ensuring our fleet is safe, compliant, reliable and available to support the needs of the business. From vehicle maintenance and driver compliance through to supplier management, budgets and fleet performance, you’ll have the opportunity to make a real impact on how our fleet operates.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day fleet operations, availability and utilisation.
  • Oversee vehicle inspections, MOTs, servicing, maintenance and replacement programmes.
  • Manage driver compliance, licence checks and driving performance.
  • Maintain accurate fleet and maintenance records.
  • Manage fleet budgets and control costs across fuel, repairs, leasing and procurement.
  • Manage supplier relationships and contracts.
  • Use fleet management, telematics and tracking systems to monitor performance.
  • Analyse fleet data, including fuel consumption, utilisation and maintenance costs.
  • Support sustainability initiatives, including electric vehicle opportunities.
  • Work closely with the Network to resolve driver and fleet-related issues.

You’ll ideally have:

  • Strong knowledge of fleet compliance and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience using fleet management, telematics and tracking systems.
  • Experience managing budgets and controlling operational costs.
  • Strong communication, leadership and organisational skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Experience supporting or implementing electric vehicle fleet initiatives.
  • The ability to build effective relationships with suppliers, drivers and internal stakeholders.
  • The ability to work under pressure, prioritise effectively and deliver against business requirements.
