Fleet Manager

Location: Wilmslow, Cheshire

Salary: £40,000–£45,000 per annum, with flexibility up to £50,000 for an exceptional candidate

Working pattern: Monday to Friday, with 1 day working from home

The Opportunity

UK Staffing Group is recruiting for an experienced Fleet Manager to join a premium chauffeur business based in Wilmslow. The business operates a fleet of around 50 predominantly Mercedes vehicles, delivering a high-quality service where vehicle presentation, reliability, and availability are essential. This is a hands-on Fleet Manager position, responsible for keeping the fleet safe, well maintained, cost-effective, and ready for operation. You'll oversee servicing, maintenance, repairs, vehicle scheduling, suppliers, and fleet costs, ensuring vehicles remain available and downtime is kept to a minimum. We're looking for someone with genuine fleet management experience who can take ownership of the day-to-day operation, build strong supplier relationships, and make commercially sound decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day operation of a fleet of approximately 50 vehicles, predominantly Mercedes.
  • Coordinate and schedule servicing, routine maintenance, MOTs, and repairs.
  • Monitor vehicle availability and minimize downtime by ensuring maintenance is planned effectively.
  • Manage relationships with garages, dealerships, repair providers, and other fleet suppliers.
  • Monitor and control fleet maintenance costs, challenging unnecessary expenditure and securing value for money.
  • Oversee tyre management, replacements, and associated costs.
  • Ensure vehicles are equipped with the appropriate technology, including dash cams and Wi-Fi devices.
  • Maintain accurate fleet records, service histories, and maintenance schedules.
  • Monitor vehicle condition, cleanliness, and presentation to ensure vehicles meet the standards expected of a premium chauffeur service.
  • Coordinate vehicle maintenance around operational requirements to minimize disruption.
  • Identify opportunities to improve fleet efficiency, supplier performance, and cost control.
  • Ensure vehicles are maintained in line with relevant safety requirements and manufacturer recommendations.
  • Resolve fleet-related issues promptly and take ownership of problems through to resolution.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
