4 on, 4 off (including weekends)

10:00pm – 6:00am
Salary:
£47,000 - £52,000 depending upon experience
Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Fleet Vehicle Technician to join our growing fleet maintenance team. This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified mechanic with experience working on trucks and trailers within the UK, who takes pride in delivering high-quality workmanship and ensuring vehicles remain safe, compliant, and operational.
Working night shifts on a 4 on, 4 off rotation, you will play a critical role in maintaining our fleet, minimising vehicle downtime, and supporting the smooth running of our operations.

What You'll Be Doing
As a Fleet Vehicle Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a diverse fleet of commercial vehicles, ensuring they meet the highest standards of safety, reliability, and compliance.
- Carrying out routine servicing, preventative maintenance, inspections, and repairs on fleet vehicles.
- Diagnosing and resolving mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic faults.
- Using diagnostic equipment and software to identify and repair vehicle issues efficiently.
- Preparing vehicles for MOT testing and carrying out MOT inspections where qualified.
- Conducting safety inspections and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and company standards.
- Maintaining accurate maintenance records, job sheets, and fleet management system updates.
- Supporting vehicle commissioning, decommissioning, and asset management activities.
- Managing workshop tools, equipment, and parts inventory effectively.
- Assisting with breakdown response and roadside repairs when required.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues and operational teams to ensure maximum fleet availability.
What you’ll bring to the role
- Proven experience as a Fleet Mechanic, HGV Technician, Commercial Vehicle Technician, Truck Mechanic, or Trailer Technician within the UK.
- Strong experience maintaining and repairing trucks and/or trailers.
- Own professional mechanic tools.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Experience working with HGVs, LCVs, EVs, hybrid vehicles, or specialist fleet vehicles.
- Experience using fleet management or workshop management systems.
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance, Automotive Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Qualified MOT Tester.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong understanding of workshop health and safety requirements.
