Job Opportunity: Fleet Performance Engineer

Due to an internal move, our client has an opportunity to join their Maintenance Control Team as a Fleet Performance Engineer. This role manages and develops the preventative maintenance programme and leads the airline's predictive maintenance philosophy for their fleet of Embraer E190 aircraft.

With a focus on the highest levels of aircraft reliability, this role helps ensure that our client carries their passengers safely, and on time, to their desired destination.

Note:

This role is open only to candidates who already have the right to live and work in the UK. Sponsorship is not available.

Job Details:

  • Job Role: Fleet Performance Engineer
  • Location: Didsbury, Manchester
  • Salary Package: £74,106 per annum plus main airline benefits
  • Permanent Opportunity: Full-time working

Key Responsibilities:

  • Using multiple data sources, identify the maintenance tasks, outside or scheduled maintenance programme, required to keep our fleet flying without interrupting our scheduled operations.
  • Communicate these requirements to our line and base engineering teams using Engineering Technical Requirements, work instructions, in a timely manner to address repetitive, latent, and active aircraft defects.
  • Ensure continued focus on Technical Dispatch Reliability from an Operational and reliability perspective to meet the company's targets. Develop, maintain, and present operational and performance reports.
  • Act as a technical expert on our fleet, supporting the Maintrol Team with ad-hoc shift cover and guidance on troubleshooting complex issues and repetitive defects.
  • Collaborate with our Safety Service and Air Ops teams on the review of Flight Data conditional events, interpreting the flight data recorders, for required Engineering follow-up requirements.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Ability to make decisions based on sound rationale and technical knowledge.
  • Sound analytical skills - ability to manipulate, analyse and report on complex data.
  • Ability to work under pressure and deliver against challenging targets.
  • Ability to travel to various locations within the UK and Europe.
  • Ability to hold a full airside pass.
  • Communicate the right information in the right way and effectively with the team you work in.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, effectively and appropriately at all levels, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships.
  • Ability to influence at all levels.
  • IT Skills (Advanced Excel and preferably some coding/SQL/data analytics and aircraft health monitoring Applications).
  • Knowledge of the Embraer E-Jet family of aircraft.

Required Qualifications:

  • CAA Part-66 B1/B2 licence or equivalent engineering technical qualification.
  • Type rating on Embraer E190 aircraft, or experience within a similar technical support/technical services role.
  • Working knowledge of CAA/EASA Part-CAMO, Part-M and Part 145 requirements.
  • Technical Services experience.
  • Experience of the aircraft certification, technical support and maintenance from a practical and continued airworthiness viewpoint.
  • Knowledge of Airline business, regulatory and operating environment.
