The Role

The Fleet Service and Maintenance Technician plays a critical role in maintaining the safety, performance, and operational readiness of Wayve’s autonomous vehicle fleet. From routine servicing and diagnostics to urgent repairs and vehicle readiness for high-visibility events, technicians ensure our fleet remains in peak condition to support testing, demonstrations, and real-world deployment.

Reporting to the Fleet Service Manager, this hands-on role requires strong mechanical knowledge, the ability to work with modern diagnostic systems, and a proactive, safety-conscious mindset. Working closely with engineering, drivers, and operations teams, you’ll help keep autonomy moving forward, every single day.

Key responsibilities:

  • Routine & Preventative Maintenance – Execute scheduled servicing and inspections per manufacturer and internal guidelines.
  • Mechanical & Electrical Fault Resolution – Diagnose and repair a wide range of issues using OEM documentation and advanced diagnostic equipment.
  • Vehicle Readiness for Demonstrations – Ensure vehicles meet high standards of cleanliness, reliability, and functionality for public-facing use.
  • Workshop Safety & Compliance – Adhere to safety best practices, risk assessments, and regulations.
  • Repair Documentation & Tracking – Accurately record faults found, actions taken, and parts used using digital tools.
  • Feedback into Fleet Performance – Communicate recurring issues or improvement ideas to the Fleet Service Manager and Field Engineering teams.
  • Customer-Facing Communication – Engage with fleet drivers to resolve issues they report and ensure a positive operational experience.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
