Job reference 343174 Fleet Stores Administrator

Location: Royal Mail, Edinburgh Workshop, 11 Cultins Road, Edinburgh, EH11 4YY

Permanent

38 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with working hours scheduled between 07:00 and 16:00

At Royal Mail, our vehicles play a vital role in connecting people and businesses across the country. We're looking for an organised and proactive Fleet & Workshop Stores Administrator to join our Edinburgh Workshop team, supporting the day-to-day operation of our busy fleet maintenance function.

About The Role

As a key member of the workshop team, you'll provide administrative and stores support to ensure vehicle maintenance activities run smoothly and efficiently.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Ordering, receiving, controlling and issuing vehicle parts and workshop stock.
  • Maintaining accurate stock records and processing returns.
  • Supporting workshop colleagues by ensuring parts are available when needed.
  • Processing orders and managing stock levels effectively.
  • Inputting, checking and maintaining data across systems including Excel and Word.
  • Carrying out data verification and reconciliation activities.
  • Building positive relationships with internal colleagues, suppliers and external customers.
  • Resolving queries and issues promptly while delivering excellent customer service.
  • Supporting the Workshop Manager and wider fleet team with a variety of administrative tasks.

About You

You'll bring strong organisational skills, a proactive approach and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

You'll have:

  • Experience of working within a stores, stock control, parts or administrative environment.
  • Good IT skills, including experience using Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail.
  • Confidence handling telephone and email enquiries professionally.
  • Good numeracy skills and the ability to work accurately with data.
  • A proactive approach with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong communication and team-working skills.
  • The ability to work on your own initiative while following established processes.
  • Knowledge of finance, procurement or other internal business processes would be advantageous.
