The Role

Are you a proactive leader with a passion for fleet operations, safety, and delivering exceptional service? We're looking for a Fleet Workshop Controller to take ownership of our workshop operations, leading a skilled team of mechanics to ensure our fleet remains safe, compliant, and available to support the vital services we provide every day.

In this key role, you'll coordinate and oversee all maintenance and repair activities, ensuring work is completed efficiently, cost effectively, and to the highest standards. You'll play a pivotal role in maintaining fleet compliance, meeting Operator Licence requirements, and ensuring adherence to all relevant fleet and Health & Safety legislation. Working closely with operational teams across the business, you'll help maximise fleet availability while providing critical support during incidents and emergencies, including the mobilisation of emergency response vehicles.

If you're a strong people leader with fleet or workshop management experience, excellent organisational skills, and a commitment to safety and continuous improvement, we'd love to hear from you. This is an opportunity to make a real impact by keeping a vital fleet operational and ready to serve our customers and communities.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Leading and coordinating day-to-day workshop activities, ensuring maintenance and repair work is completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
  • Planning and allocating workshop resources, including technicians, equipment, and parts, to maximise fleet availability and minimise downtime.
  • Ensuring all vehicles are maintained in line with legal, regulatory, and Operator Licence requirements.
  • Managing MOT testing activities through both internal facilities and approved external providers.
  • Leading, developing, and supporting a team of skilled workshop technicians to deliver high performance and continuous improvement.
  • Taking ownership of Health & Safety within the workshop, promoting a positive safety culture, and ensuring compliance with company standards.
  • Providing technical guidance and support to operational teams and internal customers.
  • Supporting Transport Services projects and fleet-related initiatives across the business.
  • Owning and developing the workshop business plan, identifying opportunities to improve service, performance, and cost efficiency.
  • Supporting fleet mobilisation during incidents and emergency response activities when required.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
