EVONA is working with an ambitious space technology company developing autonomous spacecraft capabilities, and we’re looking for a Flight Software Engineer to join their growing avionics team.
You’ll develop deterministic, safety-critical flight software for autonomous spacecraft, working closely with avionics, autonomy and hardware engineers to build, integrate and validate mission-critical systems.
What you’ll be doing:
- Developing flight software in C++
- Building software for RTOS-based flight computers, including RTEMS or FreeRTOS
- Implementing FDIR, fault-tolerant control and defensive programming
- Developing software for embedded, resource-constrained systems
- Integrating and testing flight software on representative spacecraft hardware
- Debugging and performance characterisation
- Working closely with multidisciplinary avionics, autonomy and hardware teams

What we’re looking for:
- Strong C++ development experience
- Embedded software experience using RTOS and/or Linux
- Understanding of real-time and safety-critical software
- Knowledge of FDIR, fault tolerance and error handling
- Experience with multi-process architectures and IPC
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills
- Space or spacecraft software experience is highly desirable
