🚀 Modelling Consultant – River & Water Quality

📍 Multiple Locations | 🏠 Hybrid Working | 💰 Competitive Salary + Benefits

I'm working with a growing environmental consultancy that is expanding its technical modelling team and is looking for Modelling Consultants across a range of experience levels, from Consultant through to Principal Consultant.


This is an opportunity to work on impactful projects spanning river modelling, water quality investigations, catchment management, and regulatory compliance, helping clients deliver sustainable solutions across the water sector.


🔧 The Role:

  • Develop and apply hydraulic and hydrological models for 1D and 2D river systems
  • Deliver river modelling, flood risk, and water quality studies for a range of infrastructure and environmental projects
  • Support Storm Overflow Assessment Framework (SOAF) and Urban Pollution Model (UPM) studies
  • Analyse and interpret complex datasets to provide robust technical solutions
  • Prepare technical reports and communicate findings to clients and stakeholders
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across engineering, environmental, and water disciplines
  • Contribute to project delivery, quality assurance, and client satisfaction
  • Support project management and programme delivery
  • For senior-level positions, contribute to business development, mentoring, and technical leadership

👤 What You'll Need:

  • Experience in river modelling, flood hydraulics, water quality modelling, or a related field
  • Knowledge of UK water industry regulations and frameworks, including SOAF, UPM, and Water Framework Directive (WFD)
  • Experience using industry-standard modelling software such as:
    • Flood Modeller
    • TUFLOW
    • HEC-RAS
    • InfoWorks ICM
    • MIKE Suite
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical reporting skills
  • Ability to communicate technical information clearly to a range of stakeholders
  • Degree-qualified in Engineering, Environmental Science, Hydrology, Geography, or a related discipline
  • For Senior and Principal roles:
    • Proven project delivery experience
    • Client-facing and stakeholder management skills
    • Leadership, mentoring, and technical review capabilities
