Flow Assurance Lead – London
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Flow Assurance Lead to support the EPSCC phase of a major deepwater field development.
The position will be based in London, UK, with periodic travel to Paris, France.
Role Overview
The Flow Assurance Lead will be responsible for the coordination and oversight of all Flow Assurance engineering activities associated with the project.
The role will cover Flow Assurance matters across the complete production system, interfacing with Subsurface, SURF, SPS and Topsides/FPSO packages and ensuring that Flow Assurance requirements are appropriately incorporated into the design throughout the EPSCC phase.
The successful candidate will supervise the Flow Assurance studies performed by the SURF/EPSCC Contractor, review the resulting engineering deliverables and recommendations, and identify where additional independent or third-party engineering verification is required for critical technical matters.
The position will report to the SURF Technical Manager, working primarily within the SURF team while maintaining close interfaces with the SPS, FPSO and Field Operations teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate Flow Assurance engineering activities throughout the EPSCC phase.
- Define, implement, follow up and control the Flow Assurance studies required for the project.
- Supervise Flow Assurance studies and simulations performed by engineering contractors and specialist suppliers.
- Review Flow Assurance study results, assumptions, methodologies and engineering deliverables.
- Analyse study results and develop or validate recommendations for incorporation into the design of production facilities.
- Ensure Flow Assurance requirements and recommendations are correctly implemented within detailed engineering.
- Identify critical Flow Assurance subjects requiring additional specialist or independent third-party engineering verification.
- Monitor contractor engineering performance and ensure work is delivered in accordance with project specifications, procedures and applicable technical standards.
- Provide Flow Assurance input to the design of the SURF, SPS and Topsides/FPSO systems.
- Coordinate Flow Assurance interfaces with Subsurface and other engineering disciplines to ensure reservoir and production assumptions are consistent with system operating envelopes.
- Interface with disciplines including Process, Pipelines, Subsea, Safety, Commissioning and Operations.
- Review and comment on key engineering documents issued by the different project packages and ensure Flow Assurance interfaces are properly managed.
- Support the definition of operating philosophies and procedures, identifying Flow Assurance constraints that require further analysis or mitigation.
- Participate in relevant project technical reviews and HAZOP activities where required.
- Identify Flow Assurance risks, uncertainties and potential operational constraints and ensure appropriate mitigation measures are incorporated into the design.
- Support optimisation of the production system while maintaining the required levels of safety, operability, reliability and technical integrity.
- Liaise with specialist engineering resources and technical authorities as required.
- Support the capture of lessons learned and technical feedback throughout project execution.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
