As a Flow Assurance Scientist, you will be part of the Chemicals Technology Group, supporting our scale, paraffin, asphaltene, and hydrate inhibitor portfolio. You will contribute to research and development activities while supporting Sales and Operations teams through product selection, performance testing, troubleshooting, and field support activities.
This role provides an opportunity to develop technical expertise across multiple flow assurance applications while working closely with laboratory, field, commercial, and technical teams.
As a Flow Assurance Scientist, you will be responsible for:
- Planning and performing laboratory testing and field evaluations to support flow assurance applications.
- Analyzing experimental data and assessing results for applicability, validity, and compliance with specifications.
- Supporting product selection activities for customer applications.
- Troubleshooting technical and operational challenges related to flow assurance products and treatments.
- Contributing to the development of new testing methods, procedures, and products.
- Preparing technical reports and communicating results through written documentation and presentations.
- Supporting Sales and Operations teams with technical expertise and recommendations.
- Conducting field support activities when required to meet business and customer needs.
- Ensuring compliance with all Health, Safety, Environmental (HSE), and Quality requirements.
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the Chemicals Technology Group.
- Participating in additional projects and assignments as required.

Fuel your passion
To be successful in this role, you will:
- Hold a Degree or higher qualification in Chemistry or a related scientific discipline.
- Have experience conducting a variety of laboratory testing activities.
- Demonstrate strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Possess the ability to think logically and evaluate technical challenges effectively.
- Have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrate effective communication skills, including:
- Written reporting
- Technical documentation
- Email communication
- Telephone communication
- Face‑to‑face presentations and discussions
- Be self‑motivated and capable of managing tasks independently.
- Have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Be comfortable working independently in both laboratory and remote field environments.
- Demonstrate a commitment to safety, quality, and continuous learning.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Oil & Gas Production Chemistry.
- Knowledge of flow assurance challenges including:
- Scale management
- Paraffin control
- Asphaltene management
- Hydrate prevention
- Experience supporting field operations and customer troubleshooting activities.
- Understanding of production systems and flow assurance applications within the energy industry.
