Resolution Life is a global life insurance group focusing on reinsurance and the acquisition and management of portfolios of life insurance policies. Position Summary
The role will form part of the global reinsurance solutions team, with a primary focus on supporting Flow Reinsurance pricing across US and Asia. Geographical focus may vary over time, depending on activity across Resolution Life. The role will work closely with our pricing and underwriting teams across Bermuda, the US, Asia and London.
Key Accountabilities
Deal Pricing
- Support pricing and underwriting of global flow reinsurance transactions, including technical analysis, structuring and commercial negotiations.
- Support the rate setting process for in-force flow treaties.
- Manage and run pricing models.
- Carry out assessments and quantification of potential risks and upsides of target portfolios.
- Ensure technical pricing support is effective and provided efficiently and on time.
Team Development
- Update pricing models and develop pricing methodologies.
- Keep up to date with the latest developments in technical actuarial skills relevant to reinsurance and M&A.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience
- Undergraduate degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Sciences or other related fields.
- Fellow of the Institute & Faculty. Equivalent Actuarial designations also accepted.
- 5+ years of experience in life insurance/reinsurance industry in pricing, valuation or other actuarial function.
- A strong background in modelling and coding.
- A strong background in reinsurance pricing is preferred.
- Sufficient experience with asset-intensive reinsurance, pension risk transfer or life insurance pricing preferred
- Knowledge of Bermuda solvency regime and economic balance sheet methodology (or comparable solvency based reserving regime such as Solvency II)
- Proficiency in Excel and other modelling software/language (Python or R) preferred.
- Ability to solve problems independently from data and information gathering, modelling, to analysing and reporting on the topic.
- Ability to work as an individual contributor and take initiative to learn new things. You may work on something you haven’t worked on before but are prepared to go and learn and find out about this area and build your knowledge.
- Ability to recognise potential conflicts and acknowledge where guidance is required / necessary.
- Demonstrates high standards regarding the quality of technical analysis and other deliverables.
- Embraces automation and technological solutions for all uses of data (e.g. modelling, analysis and reporting).
- Efficient project management skills with a focus on driving-for-results.
