Job Title: Waste Operative With FLT Counterbalance
Pay Rate: £15.58 per hour
Contract Type: Full Time
Type of Employment: Permanent
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Shift Pattern: Tuesday to Saturday (10pm - 6am) Nights
Location: McCormick (UK), 5 Forli Strada, Peterborough, Cambridgeshire, England, PE7 3HH
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift operator - Counterbalance
- Previous experience in waste management or related field preferred
- Strong attention to detail and adherence to safety procedures
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Physical ability to lift and move heavy objects
- Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude
Role Description: We are looking for a Waste Operative to join the Waste and Cleaning team to undertake the collection, movement, sorting, processing, and dispatch of waste and other materials including the compaction of waste and cardboard.

Key Responsibilities:
- Work and stay compliant to Health and Safety regulations
- Monitor the performance of equipment
- Provide support to the On-Site Waste Coordinator to complete site objectives
- Follow PPE guidance
- Hold a current Counterbalance FLT license
- Be prepared to work outside including in extreme weather conditions
- Have a good level of communicative English
- Be detail-conscious and excellent time management skills to follow tight deadlines
- Pass a DBS Check and undertake a drugs/alcohol screening test prior to starting
Ideal Candidate:
- Experience in Health & Safety training
- Understanding of waste management and environmental legislation
- Previous experience in the use of static balers and compactors
- Capable of carrying out strenuous tasks
