Help us make a difference as an FLT Operator

Salary: £12.88 per hour, with an additional £1.93 per hour when working the night shift.

Shift rotation: 1 week early shift, followed by 1 week late shift on rotation. This may be subject to change depending on holiday cover and operational requirements. Overtime is available, with a degree of flexibility required.

We are looking for an experienced FLT Operator to join the team at Biffa. This is a hands-on role involving the collection and segregation of waste and recycling, operating balers and a waste compactor, as well as supporting with administrative duties such as booking bulkers in and out and completing the relevant paperwork.

Core responsibilities

  • Collecting and segregating waste and recycling across the site.
  • Operating cardboard and plastic balers, as well as the waste compactor.
  • Operating a counterbalance forklift, including handling materials using a clamp attachment.
  • Completing administrative duties, including booking bulkers in and out and managing relevant paperwork.

Essential requirements

  • Valid Counterbalance FLT licence with proven experience operating a counterbalance forklift.
  • Previous clamp attachment experience is essential.
  • Previous experience in a warehouse, waste, recycling or similar operational environment, with the flexibility to work the rotating shift pattern and overtime when required.
