About The Role
FLT Reach Drivers are required for a full-time position in Aston, paying £15.16 per hour with premium overtime rates. This role sits within a busy automotive manufacturing operation, where you will operate a reach truck to move components, stillages, and materials, ensuring production lines remain continuously supplied.
The working pattern rotates between 06:00–13:30 and 13:30–21:00. Applicants must hold a valid reach truck licence; additional licences are a bonus. This is a hands-on, long-term placement with Pertemps Birmingham Commercial, accessible from Hockley, Perry Barr, and Central Birmingham. You will keep operations flowing smoothly through accurate, efficient material handling.

We are recruiting for experienced Reach Truck Drivers to join a fast-paced automotive logistics operation in North Birmingham. This is a hands-on role where you will play a key part in keeping production lines supplied and ensuring manufacturing continues without interruption.

Key Responsibilities
- Operating an FLT Reach Truck safely and efficiently throughout a busy automotive manufacturing facility.
- Line feeding production areas, ensuring components and materials are delivered to production on time.
- Moving automotive parts, stillages, pallets and returnable packaging around the site.
- Working within a busy, high-volume manufacturing environment alongside production teams, pedestrians and other FLT operators.
- Supporting Just-In-Time (JIT) production processes and ensuring production lines remain fully supplied.
- Collecting finished materials and returning empty stillages and packaging to designated areas.
- Loading and unloading vehicles safely and efficiently when required.
- Replenishing stock and carrying out material movements between warehouse and production areas.
- Supporting goods-in, stock movements and general warehouse operations.
- Following strict site safety procedures and maintaining a high standard of housekeeping.
- Working both on and off the truck when required.
What We're Looking For
- Valid FLT Reach Truck licence, issued or refreshed within the last 3 years.
- Minimum 12 months' recent Reach Truck experience.
- Previous experience in automotive, manufacturing or high-volume logistics is highly desirable.
- Experience of line feeding production or supplying manufacturing lines is strongly preferred.
- Confident operating a Reach Truck within a busy manufacturing environment.
- Good awareness of pedestrian and vehicle safety.
- Reliable, flexible and comfortable working to production deadlines.
- Able to work as part of a busy team while maintaining high safety and productivity standards.

Additional FLT Licences – Advantageous
