Role Summary

As a Flushing Engineer, you will carry out pre-commission cleaning, flushing, and water hygiene services across a variety of client sites nationwide. Working independently and alongside senior engineers, you will be responsible for ensuring closed water systems are cleaned, treated, and commissioned in line with industry standards and best practices.

This role offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer looking to further develop their technical expertise within a specialist and growing sector.

  • Carry out pre-commission cleaning, system flushing, and chemical cleaning of closed water systems.
  • Perform back flushing, system cleansing, and chemical dosing on heating and chilled water systems.
  • Operate flushing rigs, pumps, filtration units, and associated equipment safely and effectively.
  • Complete water hygiene tasks including TMV servicing, tank cleaning, and calorifier inspections.
  • Ensure all work complies with relevant industry legislation, standards, and client requirements.
  • Maintain accurate service records and site documentation.
  • Adhere to company health and safety procedures at all times.
  • Support senior engineers on larger or more complex projects.
  • Maintain company vehicles, equipment, and tools to a high standard.
  • Travel to customer sites across the UK as required.

Essential Requirements

Key Requirements / Skills

  • Minimum 1 year's experience within water treatment, water hygiene, or building services.
  • Experience carrying out conventional and CPC filtration flushing.
  • Legionella Risk Assessor qualification.
  • Knowledge of BSRIA BG29/2021 and BG50/2021 standards.
  • Understanding of HSE ACoP L8 and HSG274 Parts 2 and 3.
  • Strong health and safety awareness.
  • Competent with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Willingness to stay away from home on occasion for project requirements.

Desirable Requirements

  • Additional water hygiene or water treatment qualifications.
  • Experience working within healthcare, data centre, or large commercial environments.
  • Knowledge of commissioning and closed system water treatment processes.
  • Strong communication and customer-facing skills.

Location & Work Pattern

Location: West Midlands base with nationwide travel to customer sites.
