We’re seeking a well-motivated individual to join our growing Sustainable River Management team in the UK, specialising in fluvial geomorphology, river restoration, and environmental outcomes. Based in Birmingham, Bristol, Oxford, London/Epsom, or Peterborough, the role involves leading projects, team collaboration, technical excellence, and shaping policy standards.

The Core Objectives of Your Role
- Lead multi-disciplinary, habitat-focused projects on river management, realignments, watercourse mitigation schemes, and WFD compliance.
- Lead teams through project lifespan, ensuring evidence-based solutions while managing budgets and timelines.
- Work closely with senior stakeholders, project teams, and external consultants (ecologists, planners, engineers).
- Contribute to internal service improvements, client growth efforts (tender engagement), and industry knowledge enhancement.
- Provide specialist input on line of evidence development, complex decision-making processes, and technical reporting.
Key Responsibilities

Technical Delivery & Research
- Define project scope, scoping studies, or feasibility investigations in river geomorphology, hydrology, and ecology.
- Advise on corrective / mitigation measures aligned with national guidance and renowned policy frameworks (in England and internationally).
- Lead ** Detailed When, How, and What evaluations** on past projects: advance sustainable and climate-proofed solutions.

Technical Depth
- Degree and postgraduate qualification in relevant geomorphological discipline (hydraulics, environmental science, engineering advisable).
- Proficiency in guiding reach-scale or catchment-level geomorphological assessments (hydromorportion, hydrogeology).
- Extensive experience in river restoration, multiple weir removals, river realignments, instream enhancement works.
