Flying Start Health Manager - Gwynedd, Band 7
7.5 hrs, Fixed Term
Gwynedd Flying Start are looking to recruit a Part-time (7.5 hours), Band 7 Team Manager within the Community Public Health Team, that of Health Visiting.
Responsibilities
The Team Manager is responsible for the management and leadership of the Flying Start Health Visiting teams within the community, in order to ensure the delivery of a safe, high quality evidence based service for children and their families, through the Healthy Child Wales Programme.
We are seeking an experienced, highly motivated Health Visitor, with excellent communication skills, who meets the requirements of the Personal Specification and Job Description. Experience of the Flying Start model, HCWP and working in partnership with Local Authority would be an advantage for this post, however not essential.
Main duties of the job
- We are looking for a self-motivated individual who has excellent management, communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
- The post holder will be accountable to the Flying Start Service Coordinator.
- You will represent Gwynedd Flying Start at a North Wales and All Wales level and work closely with the universal Health Visiting service both at management and practitioner levels.
- You will provide operational management to all health employed staff within the team and oversee the delivery of the Health element of the Flying Start service on a day to day basis. This will include monitoring sickness/absence, and undertaking absence reviews and performance reviews along with other managerial duties.
- You will provide regular clinical supervision and support to staff to ensure safe and best practice that meets professional requirements.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- NMC registered nurse with qualifications appropriate to the service area managed
- Continued professional and management development.
- Relevant degree
- Recognised and relevant management qualification (must be achieved 1-2 years)
Desirable criteria
- Evidence of mentoring
- Assessment and/or teaching
Experience
Essential criteria
- Management experience at band 6 or above
- Relevant clinical experience
- Child Protection/Safeguarding training at level 3
- Service and/or policy development.

- Evidence of financial management skills and ability
