Portfolio Facilities Manager

Location: London

Salary: £60,000-£65,000 per annum

Contract: Permanent

The Opportunity

I'm currently working with a leading residential property operator to recruit a Portfolio Facilities Manager to oversee hard facilities management across a growing portfolio of residential assets. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced FM professional with a strong technical background in M&E, statutory compliance and contractor management to take on a portfolio-wide role across Build-to-Rent (BTR) and Single-Family Housing (SFH) developments. You'll work closely with site teams and senior stakeholders to drive maintenance standards, ensure regulatory compliance and improve the overall performance of buildings across the portfolio. You'll also play a key role in mobilising new developments, ensuring everything is in place for a smooth transition into operational management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance programmes, ensuring SLAs and KPIs are consistently achieved.
  • Monitor M&E contracts and ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements, including fire safety, health and safety and water hygiene.
  • Manage contractor performance, working alongside procurement and site teams to review service delivery and identify improvements.
  • Oversee CAFM systems, ensuring accurate PPM schedules, inspection records and certification are maintained across the portfolio.
  • Support the mobilisation and handover of new BTR and SFH developments, ensuring maintenance regimes, contracts and operating procedures are established.
  • Provide technical FM support and guidance to General Managers, Building Managers and Assistant Building Managers.
  • Monitor facilities management budgets, providing financial reporting, forecasting and cost-control measures.
  • Maintain accurate asset registers and support lifecycle planning, defect management and warranty matters.
  • Lead contractor benchmarking and tender processes, maintaining a network of approved M&E and FM service providers.
  • Support building safety and compliance initiatives, including fire safety, compartmentation, external walls and fire doors.
  • Drive sustainability, energy efficiency and ESG initiatives across the portfolio.
  • Develop and implement FM policies, procedures and SOPs, providing training and guidance to site teams where required.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
