FM Vendor Manager
Contract: Government
Location: Birmingham or Stoke
Hours of work: 40
Contract Type: Permanent
We are seeking an experienced FM Vendor Manager to oversee a portfolio of facilities management service providers and subcontractors across multiple sites.
This role is responsible for ensuring suppliers consistently deliver safe, compliant, cost-effective and customer-focused services while meeting contractual obligations and governance requirements.
Job Description
We are looking for a commercially aware and proactive professional with strong Hard FM experience who can build effective supplier relationships, resolve operational challenges and drive continuous improvement across outsourced FM services.
The successful candidate will play a key role in monitoring performance, addressing service delivery issues and ensuring work is processed accurately and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the performance, compliance and governance of multiple FM subcontractors and service providers.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with suppliers to support effective service delivery.
- Monitor supplier performance against contractual obligations, service levels and operational requirements.
- Investigate and resolve service delivery bottlenecks, technical issues and payment-related challenges.
- Ensure work orders are processed correctly through helpdesk systems and that accurate feedback is received from subcontractors.
- Drive consistency, quality and continuous improvement across Hard FM services and specialist compliance activities.
- Identify and manage operational risks, ensuring safety, compliance and governance requirements are met.
- Produce performance analysis and reporting to support informed decision-making and supplier accountability.

About You
- Proven experience in Hard FM and operational facilities management, with a solid understanding of best practice service delivery.
- Proven experience managing outsourced FM service providers, subcontractors and complex supply chains.
- Strong commercial awareness and contract management capability.
- Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills.
- Strong analytical, reporting and problem-solving abilities.
- Proven ability to improve supplier performance and deliver successful outcomes.
- Excellent negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
- Experience managing compliance, governance and risk requirements.
- Customer-focused approach with strong client relationship management experience.
- Self-motivated, committed and enthusiastic team contributor.
- Degree, HNC/HND or equivalent professional experience in Facilities Management, Business Management or a related discipline.
- Knowledge of procurement and supply chain management principles.
