Company Description

Purbeck Ice Cream is a family-run business based on a farm overlooking Corfe Castle in the Isle of Purbeck, creating award-winning, locally crafted Ice cream. The company produces unique ice creams and sorbets, dog-friendly iced treats, handcrafted chocolate, all made with quality local and natural ingredients wherever possible. Products are gluten free, suitable for vegetarians, Halal compliant, and free from artificial additives, GMOs, added colours, and nuts. A small, friendly team focuses on craftsmanship, fun, and care, offering something for a wide range of tastes and occasions. Team members join a business that values community, authenticity, and pride in its Dorset roots.

Role Description

The Sales Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in Kingston, responsible for growing and maintaining sales across Purbeck Ice Cream’s product range. Day-to-day tasks include:

The role involves visiting local and regional accounts, attending events or tastings, and ensuring excellent in-person customer service. The Sales Specialist will collaborate with the wider team to plan sales campaigns, provide feedback on market trends. Accurate record-keeping, reporting on sales performance, and representing the Purbeck brands professionally at all times are key aspects of the position.

Qualifications

  • Strong experience in Sales team management and leadership/mentoring, including managing pipelines and reporting on performance.
  • Proven sales experience with the ability to identify opportunities, convert leads, and meet or exceed sales targets.
  • Ability to deliver Training and product demonstrations to customers, partners, and team members as needed.
  • Knowledge of food, drink, or FMCG sectors is beneficial, especially within local or artisanal brands.
  • Comfortable working on-site, visiting customers, and attending events; full UK driving licence is a must.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and able to work both independently and collaboratively in a small team environment.
  • Basic IT skills for managing CRM tools, email, and sales documentation; prior experience in similar roles is preferred.
