We are looking for a Focal Network Engineer to act as the dedicated technical lead for a strategic Higher Education customer. This customer-facing role combines enterprise networking expertise, technical leadership, service ownership, and consultancy.

You will be the primary technical point of contact, providing guidance across operational support, network transformation projects, and strategic planning. A key focus of the role will be supporting the customer's transition from a Cisco-based environment to Juniper Mist managed networking while ensuring the performance, resilience, and security of the existing network estate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee network operations, service performance, resilience, and security.
  • Manage complex technical escalations and coordinate resolution activities.
  • Drive service improvement initiatives and maintain technical standards.
  • Support network transformation, refresh, and migration programmes.
  • Contribute to architecture decisions, technology roadmaps, and technical governance.
  • Produce technical reports, risk assessments, and service improvement plans.
  • Mentor engineers and share networking best practices across teams.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
