Front of House Team Leader/Duty Manager

Ardencote Manor - Hiddenwell | Luxury Wellness Retreat

Salary: £28,000 per annum

Full-Time | Permanent

Estimated Start Date: 23 November 2026

Reports to: Front Office Manager / General Manager

Are you passionate about creating exceptional guest experiences and confident leading a team in a busy hospitality environment?

We’re looking for a FOH Team Leader / Duty Manager to join the team at Ardencote

This is a hands-on role where you’ll be at the heart of the hotel operation, supporting our Front of House team, engaging with guests and helping to make sure every shift runs smoothly.

What You’ll Be Doing

As our FOH Team Leader / Duty Manager, you’ll take responsibility for the day-to-day Front of House operation while on shift.

  • Leading and supporting our Receptionists and Day Porters throughout their shifts
  • Carrying out regular floor walks to make sure guest areas are presented at their best
  • Working closely with teams across the hotel to keep operations running smoothly
  • Spotting potential issues early and take action before they impact the guest experience
  • Welcoming and engaging with guests throughout their stay
  • Handling guest queries, requests and complaints confidently and professionally
  • Helping manage check-ins, check-outs and bookings during busy periods
  • Making sure VIPs, special occasions and individual guest requirements are recognised and looked after
  • Keeping relevant teams informed of guest preferences and special requirements
  • Monitoring guest feedback and use it to help improve our service
  • Completing shift logs, incident reports and other required documentation
  • Carrying out team briefings and communicate key information for the day
  • Supporting, motivating and providing feedback to Front of House team members
  • Ensuring hotel procedures and service standards are consistently followed
  • Supporting emergency procedures and complete fire safety walks while on shift
  • Supporting check-ins and check-outs during busy periods, keep shift logs and reports up to date, review guest feedback and ensure hotel procedures are followed
  • Helping ensure our health, safety and security procedures are followed, including completing fire safety walks and responding appropriately to any incidents or emergencies

About You

  • Must have experience in hospitality, hotels or a customer-facing environment
  • Must enjoy leading, motivating and supporting a team
  • Must be confident dealing with guests and resolving problems
  • Must be able to stay calm and organised when things get busy
  • Must have great communication skills and enjoy working with different departments
  • Must be able to notice the little details that can turn good service into a great experience
  • Must be proactive, dependable and happy to take ownership
  • Must genuinely enjoy making people feel welcome

Additional Information

  • Full-time - 40 hours per week
  • 5 out of 7 days
  • Salary: £28,000 per annum
  • Shift patterns: 7.00am – 3.00pm, 7.00am – 2.00pm or 2.00pm – 10.00pm
  • Applicants must have the legal right to work in the UK at the time of application. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer visa sponsorship now or at any point in the future for this role
