Food & Beverage Assistant – Conference & Events
Are you passionate about delivering exceptional service and creating memorable experiences for guests?
We are looking for a Food & Beverage Assistant – Conference & Events to join our team at Marcliffe Hotel. You’ll play an important role in delivering outstanding food and beverage service across a wide range of events, including weddings, celebrations, conferences, funerals and special occasions.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, takes pride in their work and loves being part of a team committed to delivering 5-Star service.
What you’ll be doing
- Preparing and setting up event spaces to the highest standards, including tables, chairs, linen, tableware and décor.
- Welcoming and assisting guests in a warm, friendly and professional manner.
- Serving food and beverages efficiently and in line with the requirements of each event.
- Anticipating guests’ needs and ensuring they receive attentive and personalised service.
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, presentation and hygiene throughout each event.
- Clearing and resetting event spaces efficiently once service is complete.
- Working closely with the Conference & Events team to ensure every event runs smoothly.
- Responding to guest requests and concerns promptly, escalating any issues to Management when required.
- Taking part in training and development to continually improve your knowledge and skills.
- Supporting the wider team with other duties as required.

We’re looking for someone who is:
- Passionate about food, beverage and exceptional customer service.
- Friendly, personable and confident when interacting with guests.
- Professional in appearance and approach.
- A great team player who is also comfortable working independently.
- Reliable, proactive and willing to get stuck in.
- Highly attentive to detail and able to follow instructions.
- Calm and organised when working in a busy environment.
- Flexible and adaptable to the changing needs of the business.
- Keen to learn, develop and build a career within hospitality.

Previous hospitality or customer service experience is desirable, but attitude, enthusiasm and a genuine passion for delivering great service are just as important.
