Holiday Inn Hull Marina (soon to be voco Hull Marina)

Holiday Inn Hull Marina is becoming voco Hull Marina. As part of a multi-million-pound refurbishment, our restaurant and bar are being completely reimagined. We want them to be somewhere Hull chooses to eat and drink, not just where hotel guests happen to end up. We're looking for a Food & Beverage Manager to lead the team through today's operation and into that relaunch.

This isn't a role that starts on opening night. You'll join while we're still trading, get the fundamentals right with the team you have, and help shape what comes next. You'll work alongside our General Manager, Operations Manager, and Head Chef as well as the specialist partners working on the project.

At the heart of the new food and drink offer will be our destination restaurant and bar, with ambitions to become known for some of the best fish and chips in the region, alongside signature fish pie, fish tacos, fresh fish and quality steaks, supported by standout cocktails, beers from around the world and carefully selected local produce and drinks.

The Role

You'll be responsible for our restaurant, bar, breakfast and events operation. That means running today's business well while preparing the team for the relaunch. You will:

  • Lead from the floor: be visible during service, set the pace and hold the standard
  • Make sure the basics are delivered consistently across breakfast, restaurant, bar and events, because that's what the new concept will be built on
  • Work closely with the Head Chef so that food and service feel like one experience, not two departments
  • Own labour, stock, cost control, average spend, revenue and departmental profitability
  • Build local trade, and help establish the restaurant and bar as a destination in their own right
  • Develop your supervisors and future managers, continuing our record of promoting from within
  • Work with the wider hotel team and project partners as the refurbishment takes shape
  • Maintain full compliance across licensing, allergens, food safety, and health and safety

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

About You

You're a hands-on hospitality leader who's comfortable stepping in whenever the operation needs you. You know that good restaurants depend on the detail: how a guest is welcomed, how the room looks, the quality of a drink, and how the team talks about the food they're serving.

You're commercially sharp and happy to be accountable for the numbers. You also understand that the numbers follow from an engaged team and guests who want to come back. You get real satisfaction from seeing people you've developed move up. You're collaborative, and you don't need to be the centre of a project to make a big contribution to it.

Previous management experience in a restaurant, bar or hotel will help. We're equally interested in strong hospitality leaders who are ready for their next step up.

Working Hours

Our hotel operates 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Your rota will cover mornings, evenings, weekends and bank holidays in line with the needs of the business.

Supporting Your Hospitality Career Growth

We're committed to developing our people. From apprenticeships and internal training programmes to clear routes for progression across our hotels, we'll support you to grow your career with us. We also recognise long service through our service awards.
