Food and Beverage Supervisor
We have an exciting opportunity to become our new Food and Beverage Supervisor at one of our conference venues in Birmingham, B4 7ET.
Wilson Vale is an established, quality-led contract caterer. We work with amazing clients across the UK who place huge value on great food as a key part of their culture and community. We work in office restaurants, independent schools and at conference venues with the same high-end ethos throughout.
This is a permanent position working 40 hours per week, 5 days over 7 on a rota basis. Your shifts will include early mornings and late evenings, so flexibility is essential.
We're looking for an experienced Food & Beverage Supervisor who thrives in a fast paced hospitality environment. You'll be a confident leader who can inspire and motivate a team of around 20 people while remaining hands on in the day to day operation. Working closely with the Restaurant Manager, you'll help deliver exceptional food and service standards across the restaurant, bar, conference and hospitality facilities.
Based at Conference Aston Hotel, you'll support a busy operation serving around 500 customers each day. From breakfast service and restaurant dining to private dinners, themed buffets, corporate hospitality and events, no two days are the same. You'll play a key role in ensuring every guest receives a first class experience.
We're looking for someone with previous supervisory experience who is commercially aware and able to balance outstanding customer service with efficient operations. You'll have excellent communication skills, a keen eye for detail and the confidence to lead restaurant and event shifts, support the training and development of your team, and work closely with the kitchen to deliver seamless service.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
