Job Description

Job Title: 1887 F & B Supervisor

Responsible to: 1887 Assistant Manager

Responsible for: 5* F & B Service

Hours: up to 45 hours over 5 days

Scope and general purpose

To assist with the smooth, efficient, and faultless food and beverage experience at The Torridon. Ensure the team is working in a positive, productive, friendly, and fun environment. Exceed the expectations of our guests to +1 service, inspire and create unique memorable experiences of escape and adventure, so everyone feels special.

Main responsibilities:

Guest

  • Supervise all guests’ F & B requests and co-ordinate +1 service for every guest.
  • Supervise and co-ordinate 1887 in the absence of a manager.
  • Handle customer complaints and feedback with professionalism and tact, taking immediate action to resolve any issues and improve the dining experience.
  • Deliver on the expectations of Forbes 5* - Genuine Sense of Interest, anticipate needs of all guests, Provide a sense of luxury.
  • Organise and co-ordinate guests’ special requests with a sense of luxury.
  • Host and assist in seating or serving customers and ensure the cleanliness and general look of the dining room during peak times.
  • Ensure consistent standards of Food and Beverage service as per the SOP manual and Forbes standards.

Productivity

  • Communicate with the office and keep up to date with guest F & B requirements.
  • Co-ordinate, attend and contribute to meetings daily, weekly, monthly as necessary.
  • Supervise team rotas to ensure productivity.
  • Note any breakages and record to the assistant manager for stock.
  • Supervise all the crockery & cutlery polishing, cleaning, and quality checks.
  • Responsible for the kitchenette, cleaning, including ordering supplies, conducting regular stock takes, and minimising waste to ensure cost-effectiveness.
  • Re-stock breakfast and afternoon tea shifts as necessary.
  • To liaise daily with the Operations and Assistant Food and Beverage Manager regarding any request or changes made on the day.

Health & Safety

  • Supervise 1887 so it is complying with all legal requirements.
  • Ensure your team on shift, is both physically and psychologically safe.
  • Record and monitor all accidents and near misses and report and action responds appropriately.

Team Performance

  • Supervise, train, and develop the 1887 team to all be Top Performers - delivering exemplary, anticipatory Guest Service to ensure guests’ expectations are exceeded.
  • Ensure that staff within your department are appropriately dressed as per the operational standards.
