Hotel Indigo Bath is a boutique hotel set within a beautifully restored 18th century Georgian building in Somerset. The property combines historic grandeur with contemporary design, offering a distinctive experience for guests. Five individual room styles reflect the culture and heritage of the Grade I listed building and the city of Bath. Team members work in an environment that values character, hospitality, and attention to detail, creating memorable stays for a diverse range of guests.

Role Description

The Food and Beverage Supervisor is a full-time, on-site role based at Hotel Indigo Bath in the city of Bath. This role oversees the day-to-day operation of the restaurant, bar, and any lounge or event spaces, ensuring high service standards and consistent guest satisfaction.

  • Supervising the food and beverage team
  • Coordinating shift schedules
  • Supporting training
  • Ensuring that all service areas are prepared and presented to brand standards

The supervisor will work hands-on during service, supporting the team with food service and bar operations, resolving guest queries, and promoting a welcoming atmosphere. The role also involves:

  • Monitoring stock levels
  • Adhering to health and safety and food hygiene regulations
  • Collaborating with management to implement service improvements and upselling initiatives

Qualifications

  • Strong supervisory skills with experience leading, motivating, and supporting food and beverage or hospitality teams.
  • Proven ability to maintain high service standards and quality across restaurant, bar, and event service operations.
  • Hands-on food service experience, including table service, bar service, and coordination of service flow.
  • Excellent customer service skills with a guest-focused approach and the ability to handle feedback and resolve issues promptly.
  • Clear and professional communication skills, with the ability to coordinate with colleagues, management, and kitchen teams.
  • Knowledge of basic food hygiene, health and safety, and licensing regulations; formal certifications are an advantage.
  • Previous experience in hotels, boutique properties, or similar hospitality environments is highly beneficial.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by hotel operations.
