Job Summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic, friendly, and passionate Team Member to join the team at Grand Café, The Scotsman Hotel, Edinburgh. You will play an important role in delivering warm, professional, and memorable experiences for every guest.
Working as part of the Front of House team, you will support the day-to-day operation of the Grand Café, maintaining high standards of guest service, food and beverage quality, presentation, cleanliness, and hospitality.
You will contribute to maintaining the standards required to operate at 1 Rosette level, while supporting the team's ambition to achieve the standards required for a second Rosette.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about hospitality, takes pride in delivering excellent service, and is keen to develop their skills and career within a leading Edinburgh hotel.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver friendly, professional, and attentive service to every guest.
- Support the smooth day to day operation of the Grand Café.
- Maintain high standards of service, food and beverage quality, presentation, and cleanliness.
- Work closely with colleagues and communicate effectively with the kitchen and wider hotel team.
- Develop a strong knowledge of the menu and confidently assist guests with their choices.
- Respond professionally to guest requests, feedback, and concerns.
- Follow all food safety, health and safety, and company procedures.
- Assist with opening and closing duties, stock control, and maintaining clean and organised service areas.
- Support the team during busy services, events, and other operational requirements.
- Attend training and continuously develop food, beverage, and service knowledge.
- Maintain the professional standards and presentation expected at The Scotsman Hotel.

Skills & Experience
- Previous hospitality, restaurant, café, or hotel experience is desirable.
- A genuine passion for hospitality and excellent guest service.
- Friendly, professional, and positive approach.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Good attention to detail and high standards of presentation.
- Ability to remain calm and professional during busy periods.
- Willingness to learn, develop, and take on new responsibilities.
- Good understanding of food hygiene and health and safety, or willingness to undertake training.
- Flexible approach to working hours, including evenings, weekends, and busy periods.
