Job Purpose

The Labour Worker will assist in the delivery and organization of the department and operations of services. This position is responsible for the physical handling, sorting and organizing of the department, while maintaining confidentiality, professionalism, accuracy, and alignment with Maskêkosihk values, policies, and procedures.

Working Conditions

  • Sorting/Inspection of donated food items for quality and expiration dates and stocking goods into appropriate categories
  • Order picking and packing, as well as labelling food hampers for clients.
  • Stocking and organizing inventory in the warehouse, including shelving products in the correct areas of the department.
  • Loading/Unloading of delivery vehicles, which involves heavy lifting of 50 lbs or more.
  • Frequent lifting, carrying and moving heavy items
  • Daily cleaning and sanitization of work areas, shelves, equipment, fridge and freezers to maintain food safety standards.
  • Discarding or composting expired or damaged goods.
  • Record-keeping of hamper disbursement.
  • Required to fill in other duties if staff are unavailable.
  • The Labour is required to work a total of 40 hours per week: Monday to Friday, 7:30 – 3:30 (with a one-hour paid lunch break); flexibility to work evenings/weekends as needed.
  • Primary location: Old Kitaskinaw Building, with occasional travel to various sites.
  • Must be physically fit; walk, climb stairs, crouch, bend, crawl, stand for long periods of time or sit for long periods of time, and be able to lift 50lbs. or more materials and/or equipment, etc.
  • Must be willing to be open to ongoing training on cultural competency or sensitivity training.
  • A valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle are required.
  • Must sign and adhere to the Enoch Cree Nation Confidentiality Agreement upon hire.
