Executive Lounge Host

At the Glasgow Marriott Hotel, our Executive Lounge is more than a place to enjoy a drink or something to eat. It’s a space where our most valued guests can relax, unwind and enjoy a more personalised hotel experience.

We’re looking for a naturally engaging and personable host to look after our Executive guests and Elite Marriott Bonvoy members. You’ll be someone who enjoys meeting people, creates an easy connection with guests and takes pride in making their time with us feel special.

As our Executive Lounge Host, you’ll play an important role in creating the atmosphere of the lounge — combining genuine hospitality with attentive food and beverage service and the confidence to make every guest feel comfortable in your company.

This is a part-time role of 20 hours across 4 working days, with evening shifts typically from 4:30pm – 10:00pm. You’ll also have the opportunity to support other Food & Beverage areas across the hotel when required.

What You’ll Do

As our Executive Lounge Host, you’ll take ownership of the guest experience within the lounge. You’ll welcome guests as they arrive, help them settle in and be available throughout their visit, creating a relaxed environment where they can enjoy their time with us.

  • Provide food and beverage service to a high standard
  • Keep the lounge well presented and ensure refreshments are replenished throughout the evening
  • Respond to questions and requests with confidence
  • Communicate dietary requirements and guest preferences clearly to the kitchen
  • Handle payments using MICROS or a similar POS system when required

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

There’s also an important operational side to the role. You’ll support stock replenishment, food presentation and end-of-shift duties, while maintaining food safety and hygiene standards. You’ll work closely with the wider F&B team and be ready to support other outlets across the hotel when needed.

Most importantly, we're looking for a great host

We’re looking for someone who genuinely enjoys people.

  • Have a natural ability to put others at ease and make conversation feel effortless
  • Be interested in the people you meet, take the time to listen and enjoy getting to know our guests
  • Have an instinct for creating a positive experience

You’ll be confident without being overbearing and attentive without being intrusive. You’ll know when to engage and when to give guests space, and you’ll bring warmth and personality to the lounge while maintaining a polished and professional approach.

You don’t need to have years of luxury hospitality experience to be successful in this role. Previous hospitality or customer service experience is preferred, but your personality, attitude and genuine enjoyment of looking after people matter just as much.

If you’re someone people naturally feel comfortable around, we’d love to meet you.
