Join our team and help bring the story of a great English manor to life, one conversation at a time
At Dumbleton Hall, we do not simply run a hotel — we steward a great English manor, where every guest is received as the honoured guest of the family. Fires are lit, dinner is served, and life unfolds as it once did in the Golden Age of English country houses. Our team brings this story to life every day.
We're looking for warm, thoughtful individuals with real character to help us create a guest experience unlike anywhere else in the Cotswolds.
Who We Are
Set in the richest pocket of the Cotswolds, our story reaches back to the Holland family, the literary circles of Gaskell, Dickens and Darwin, the Mitford sisters, and poet laureate John Betjeman. Today, we continue that tradition, offering guests a living narrative of culture and hospitality drawn from the Belle Époque, the 1920s, and artistic touchstones such as William Morris and Frederic Leighton.
The Role
As a Bartender at Dumbleton Hall, you are the heartbeat of our bar and floor — often a guest's favourite conversation of the stay. You take ownership of the bar space, keep the floor running smoothly, and support our restaurant team by running drinks during service. Beyond the pour, this role is about uplifting the guest experience through genuine conversation and connection — the kind of warm, attentive presence that makes every guest feel like an honoured guest of the family.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
