Job Description

Main responsibilities:

  • Welcoming guests in a polite and friendly manner
  • Ensuring cleanliness of work areas
  • Remaining polite and courteous at all times
  • Welcome every guest and provide exceptional service throughout their stay.
  • Personalising each interaction with guests to ensure a unique experience.
  • Ensuring Ibis Standards are met and maintained.
  • Serving guests in all areas of the Food & Beverage department including the Restaurant & Bar.
  • Perform the tasks of order taking and maximising sales opportunities through knowledge of product and suggestive selling. Ensure accuracy by repeating order(s) to the guests.
  • Take orders and send them to the kitchen staff through the POS system.
  • Prepare the order accordingly in the kitchen by respecting all food safety and measures.
  • Check ordered meals on collection from kitchen and deliver to the guests promptly to maintain temperature and look of the items.
  • Keep tables and service areas clean and tidy as per procedures.
  • Maintain hygienic food service techniques during service
  • Maintain the kitchen clean and tidy.
  • Perform all cleaning tasks required in the kitchen.
  • Complete papers about cleaning tasks.
  • Take responsibility for the restaurant and bar.
  • Any other reasonable request as required by your supervisor and managers.
  • Provide quality service to the customer by responding to their requests promptly, efficiently and courteously during check-in, check-out and throughout their stay.
  • Maintain control of guest and hotel account ensuring that all charges are accurate and posted on a timely basis.
  • Maintain strict security procedures with credit transactions, accounting procedures, issue of room keys and guest confidentiality/privacy.
  • Maintain communication channels between hotel guests and all hotel departments both verbally and in writing as required.
  • Operate switchboard effectively.
  • Handling all emails, phone enquiries promptly and professionally, greeting all callers according to Accor policy and transfer all calls to relevant departments responding to requests quickly and efficiently.
  • Document accurately all internal and guests messages.
  • Competent in taking reservations, upselling where possible to maximise on average room rates.
  • Engage with the team to ensure hotel quality and financial targets can be met.
  • Responsible for balancing banking transactions for the hotel.
  • Daily reservations checks from all platforms (Accor, Booking.com, Expedia, etc.)
  • Daily reservations checks – Ensure all back-ups, comments, payments are set accordingly
  • Maintain the accuracy of the in-house reservations system
  • Following departmental and company policies and procedures
  • Complying with legislative and safety regulations
  • Required to attend training sessions by company during day time.
  • Working hours include weekends and public holidays.
